Dear Colleagues,
We’re writing to announce the DOQS 2014 Workshop: Many Body Dynamics and Open Quantum Systems. This meeting will be organised by the University of Strathclyde, and held in the Grand Central Hotel, in the heart of Glasgow, Scotland, from October 20-22 this year.
This workshop will bring together world-leading theorists and experimentalists from the fields of quantum optics and quantum many-body systems, working with cold atomic and molecular gases, optical lattices, cavities, cold ions, Rydberg atoms and polar molecules. A focus of the workshop is the understanding of interactions between a quantum system and its environment, and how these open quantum system dynamics combine with the behaviour of many-body AMO systems.
Registration is now open, and both the online registration form and further information are available at http://doqs2014.phys.strath.ac.uk. The deadline for early-bird registration is August 22nd, 2014, and the final deadline for registration is September 19th, 2014. A small number of poster contributions will be selected for invited hot topics presentations. We will contact the corresponding speakers after the final registration deadline.
We are very pleased to announce the following invited keynote speakers:
• Mari Carmen Bañuls – MPQ, Garching, Germany
• Rainer Blatt – Universität Innsbruck, Austria
• Immanuel Bloch – MPQ, Garching, Germany
• Sebastian Diehl – Universität Innsbruck, Austria
• Tilman Esslinger – ETH Zurich, Switzerland
