I'm pleased to send you information on two significant developments resulting from the RDMS project.  I would be grateful if you could circulate this information amongst researchers in your area.

New Online Training in Research Data Management
Research Data Management has always been an essential component of research.  As attention increasingly focuses on this area in relation to risk reduction and compliance with mandates to share research data, the Research Data Management & Sharing project are pleased to launch an online training course for researchers at all levels from student to senior academic.  The course which is provided by the Projects & Training team via MyPlace can be found via the Development and Training Gateway<https://moss.strath.ac.uk/developmentandtraining/resourcecentre/Pages/RDMS.aspx>.

Researcher Information Event: Research Data, Strathcloud & Pure
4th Feb 2015, 10.30-11.30, Collins Lecture Theatre
Following significant cross-functional work within the University, Strathclyde is ready to introduce researchers to the full range of systems and tools available to them in support of their research data collection, management, security and, where appropriate, sharing.  Come along to this event to find out how to deal with new expectations in relation to research data (including the consequences of RCUK and other funder mandates) with minimal impact on your research.
