Info: Semester schedule resumes
The Library building will close at midnight tonight (Friday 23 January) and the semester opening schedule<http://www.strath.ac.uk/library/usingthelibrary/andersonianlibraryopeninghours/> will resume. The Library will reopen at 9am tomorrow (Saturday 24 January) and close again at 9pm.







International student orientation
International student orientation takes place next week. Please be aware of new students in the Library and around campus who may need directions or extra help.


Library tours
As part of international student orientation, Library tours<http://www.strath.ac.uk/library/usingthelibrary/librarytours/> will be running:
•  Monday 26 January at 13:15 and 14:15
•  Wednesday 28 January at 13:15

•  Wednesday 4 February at 13:15 and 14:15
These sessions are aimed primarily at new international students but anyone is welcome to join. There is no need to book. The meeting point is the old IT Sales area on Level 3. Pleasecontact Lorna Gilkison<mailto:l.gilkison at strath.ac.uk> if you have any queries.



Archives and Special Collections reading room CLOSED
The Archives and Special Collections reading room will be closed between 10am and 12 noon on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the next 10 weeks.
This is to accommodate seminars for class QQ205: Literature, Culture, Technology. The class is being held in the reading room to enable the students to gain experience of handling rare books.
Students may need to be directed to the reading room on Level 5 next week.
Although the reading room will be closed, we will continue to accommodate our international visitors during this time. Please contact Carol Stewart<mailto:carol.stewart at strath.ac.uk> with any queries.



Payday!

…is Thursday 29 January. Phew. That was a long time coming, wasn’t it? Payslips will soon be available from PEGASUS<http://pegasus.strath.ac.uk/>.



History of the Andersonian Library
Visit the new Archives and Special Collections display area near the entrance gates on Level 3 to explore the history of the Andersonian Library. Discover what the Library looked like in the 19th century and see the first ever Library catalogue from 1799.
