[Academic] French Links

[Nigel Langford]

Dear All,

I attended a spin off meeting from EAIE (European Association for International Education) organised by Campus France, the French national agency for the promotion of international mobility. At this meeting I was approached by several French universities looking to develop possible exchange agreements typically looking at students from the final year of an MSc in their institution coming into our 5th year of the integrated masters degree.

The Universities were

Ecole Normale Superieure de Lyon, www.ens-lyon.eu<http://www.ens-lyon.eu>


ECP-Lyon2, who already have an Erasmus agreement with Chemistry wanted to extend this agreement to cover other departments in the Faculty

Furthermore Dr Catherine Robert Higher Education Attachee of the Institute Francais explained that there was an agreement between France and Scotland aimed at encouraging the joint supervision of PhD students. It was not clear whether there was any funding associated with this and even less clear after she discussed it with me.

If anyone has any links with these institutions and thinks that they can manage an exchange then please let me know. There may also be possibilities of joint degrees.
