Subject: EPSRC Vacation Bursary Scheme 2016

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce a call for the 'EPSRC Vacation Bursary Scheme 2016' funded by the EPSRC Doctoral Training Partnership. These awards allow undergraduates to gain practical first-hand experience of research in a UK university to help them consider a research career.

Successful applicants receive a stipend of approx. £230 per week to carry out a research project lasting around ten weeks during the 2016 summer vacation. Students must be in the middle years of a first degree within EPSRC's remit, and should be able to fulfil the EPSRC Doctoral Training Partnership eligibility<http://www.strath.ac.uk/pgrfunding/eligibility/> requirements by the end of their undergraduate degree. Projects must have a clearly defined objective and be within EPSRC's remit, but should not be part of the normal degree course.

Supervisors should complete the application form on the students behalf found on the R&KE Portal<https://moss.strath.ac.uk/rkesportal/Research/SitePages/PGR%20funding.aspx>. The deadline for applications is the 11th March 2016

Please note that we can no longer top up successful Carnegie awards with EPSRC Vacation Bursary funding. If an application is made for both awards and the Carnegie award is successful the EPSRC award will be awarded to another candidate.

If you require any further information, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Best wishes,

Lisa
