Dear All
Please see email below from Rona Smith, Strategy and Policy regarding the EU referendum and request for information on direct impacts.
The department has to report back to Strategy and Policy anything that should be noted regarding this.
In order for me to coordinate the information and make a departmental return I would be grateful if you could send directly to me anything that should be noted by Monday 1st August at the latest.
Thanks.
Catherine

Subject: EU referendum: request for information on direct impacts
Dear Colleagues,
As discussed at ET on Tuesday, in order to ensure the University has a complete set of information on impacts of the EU referendum (regardless of the long-term outcome), please can you send information on any such actual and direct impacts to strategyandpolicy at strath.ac.uk<mailto:strategyandpolicy at strath.ac.uk>. This information will be helpful in the context of risks and opportunities for the University, and also in informing sector bodies’ lobbying efforts. All information provided will be collated by Faculty, and information relating to individuals will be anonymised.
Examples could include the following:
• Applicants withdrawing – we are monitoring aggregate numbers centrally, but any evidence to indicate the reason for withdrawal, or offer being declined, relates to the EU referendum vote would be useful to capture.
• Students/Staff – any significant/recorded concerns being raised, withdrawals, job offers being turned down, leavers – any such information will be treated sensitively and I am happy to receive such info directly.
• Research funding applications – any responses from collaborators or funders indicating a clear stated change in willingness to collaborate or to fund - now or in the future.
• Reputational/Other – perhaps a wider partnership arrangement affected by the uncertainty, or another impact not otherwise mentioned.
Please note that the intention is simply to log (not respond to) these issues - they should be dealt with locally or by the relevant support service.
Grateful if any such examples can be sent to strategyandpolicy at strath.ac.uk<mailto:strategyandpolicy at strath.ac.uk>, to assist with cross-cover whilst staff are on leave.
Kind regards,
Rona
