Dear Colleagues,

Following University approval of a new Intellectual Property policy for postgraduate research students in early 2014 we are now at implementation stage.  From 16/17, all new PGRs will assign commercially exploitable IP resulting from their research studies to the University, provided they are not exempt from the policy (details in the attached document). Students are made aware of this policy and asked to accept it at registration (online via PEGASUS). I'm writing to ask you to assist in explaining and implementing this policy with your new PGR students.

If you have any questions regarding the policy, and or process, please direct these to Paul Tyler (paul.tyler at strath.ac.uk<mailto:paul.tyler at strath.ac.uk>) in the first instance. If the questions highlights a concern the Faculty should be aware of please copy to me (r.w.martin at strath.ac.uk<mailto:r.w.martin at strath.ac.uk>).
