Dear All,
I would like to remind you of the Faculty grant writing challenge 2017. This is a very worthy process and I would like to emphasize that this is not only for junior staff. Last year the class included several professors incl. two HoDs.
Given where the Faculty is financially it is paramount that we all do our best. Increased grant income is the most fun way of improving the budget situation.
Cheers
Erling

Faculty of Science, Grant Challenge 2017

Do you need help getting research grants funded? Do you need a timetable to get a grant submitted?
If so, then join the Grant Challenge which this year features additional support and recordings for off-line working! Highlights over the last two years

* 30 grants submitted
* £3m of grants funded directly attributed by the PIs to their attendance at the Grant Challenge
* 5 new PIs who had previously not had a significant grant funded as PI

Selected comments:

* "The Grant Challenge, and additional mentoring, was the key for the successful funding of my grant".

* "The Grant Challenge was fundamental in obtaining my grant and represents the most substantive and effective support from Strathclyde in preparing and submitting grants to this body for this PI."

* "The Grant Challenge is truly excellent ... it took me step-by-step through the process and gave me tips at each stage for improving me grant writing. I ended up transformed as a grant writer!"
