[Academic] Open evening - thanks

Thanks to all who assisted with the departmental open evening last 
night, either as tour guides, lab demonstrators/hosts or in organising 
and advertising the event.

The turnout was very good, with approx. 100 visitors coming in. Those I 
spoke to afterwards said they enjoyed the event and the mix of research 
labs, alumni talks and the opportunity to chat with current undergraduates.

Our next public events will be the Advanced Higher Days , sometime in 
December. I've already had a couple of offers to give talks (thanks!) 
but will be looking for at least one or two more speakers and some 
demonstrators to help out in the 1st year teaching labs. If you'd be 
interested in participating then please let me know.
