[Academic] PH450 Talk Schedule 14th 21st, and 28th February 2018 Ver.1

After a bit of final fettling, the first version of the PH450 talk schedule has been released to students. I have "volunteered" some talk chairs to fill in the remaining blanks.

Please have a discussion with your project students about what should be included in their talk. Major results are not expected to be presented at this stage, it is more important that the student be able to convey, to their peers, the What, Why, and How of their project. The talk itself is only 10 mins, with a further 5 mins for questions and changeover.

There were a few more requests for changes to the 2nd draft. I attach the 3rd draft of the schedule. This will be sent to the students tomorrow unless there is any more urgent amendments.

I attach a first draft of the PH450 Project Talk Schedule. Thanks to those who informed me of availability issues, I have tried to accommodate these. Please have a look at when your students are scheduled to talk and let me know if I have inadvertently double booked a supervisor in parallel sessions.

Thanks also to those who have volunteered to chair a session. I still have many blank spaces so I am keen to hear from more volunteers.

I will like to release a reasonably final schedule to students beginning of next week.

Subject: [Academic] PH450 Talk Schedule: Supervisor Availability

To All PH450 Project Supervisors,

I am starting to compile the schedule for the PH450 Project Talks. The talks will run over 2 consecutive Wednesday afternoons in Semester II, 14th and 21st February, from 1pm-5pm. It is desirable that primary and secondary supervisors of a student are able to make their talk.

Please inform me of any potential scheduling clashes ASAP. I am also looking for volunteers to Chair the talk sessions. I hope to have a draft schedule by the start of Semester II.
