Dear all,
The University is changing its procedures for PGR examinations (PhD,
MPhil, EngD etc.). In the new system, all parts of the process (viva
committee nomination, thesis submission, submission of examiner reports)
will be handled online via Sharepoint.
The attached email contains full details of the new prodedures. The main
points to be aware of are :
- The PGR examination page on Sharepoint is
https://moss.strath.ac.uk/inst/resexam/SitePages/Home.aspx
- Viva committee nomination : Supervisors should propose an external
examiner and (optionally) an internal examiner to the PGR tutor or to
Audrey. Once approved, a convenor will be nominated and the viva
nomination form will be submitted *by Audrey* via Sharepoint for
approval by the Vice-Dean.
- Thesis submission : Once a viva committee has been approved, students
can submit their thesis via Sharepoint.
- Examiner reports : Convenors will submit examiner report forms and
supporting documentation via Sharepoint after the viva.
We are expected to use the new system from *Nov 1st*. Vivas taking place
after Nov 1st for which examining committees have already been approved
can still use the old paper report forms for examiner reports.
I look forward to hearing from you...
Gordon
