Subject: Call for MSc projects, PH952, DEADLINE 31/1/2019

Dear All

Please provide your proposition for a MSc project till 31/1/2019 to Melanie using the attached template. We will need 13 projects with a focus of interest into Nanoscience (BCP, SSD) and optics/lasers, but there are also requests for 1-2 projects in plasmas and 1 in theory.

Schedule for MSc projects 2019
31/1/2019 Deadline for academics to submit project proposals

5/2/2019 Booklet out to students
25/2/2019 Deadline for students to submit their project choices

1/3/2019 Target for allocation

3/6/2019 Start of project

19/8/2019 Hand-in deadline

26-30/8/2019 assessment, potentially a few students a little bit earlier or later

Please fill in the attached proposal form and forward to Melanie till 31/1/2019.

The projects will be allocated according to student choices, where possible. If several students chose the same project as first choice, priority will be given according to the semester 1 marks (similar as for UG projects). If any student is approaching you in the meantime (i.e. before the booklet is made available to the students) and you develop a tailored project together, then this is affirmed outside this allocation process. Please provide then a short description on the proposal form so that I have a record and the student a starting point.

Thanks very much

Thorsten
