Dear All,

As this cycle of the Global Talent Programme nears completion, I’m delighted to announce that we have successfully recruited four new Chancellor's Fellows (we remain in discussions with one additional candidate). Our four confirmed appointments are:

Dr. Alessandro Rossi; A joint appointment with NPL in the area of quantum condensed matter/quantum metrology. Alessandro starts today. Please help welcome him to the Department.

Dr. Johannes Herrnsdorf; an internal staff member from the Institute of Photonics. Johannes' research focuses on high-speed electronic interfaces for optoelectronic devices and he starts this new post in June.

Dr. Fabien Massabuau; Solid state and semiconductor physics. Fabien will start in the Autumn.

Dr. Peter Kirton; Quantum theory / modelling open quantum systems. Peter will also start in the Autumn.

Thank you to all who helped attract a large pool of high quality candidates and to everyone who participated in the long-listing, shortlisting, candidate presentations and the interviews. These new appointments demonstrate the University’s ongoing support for our Department and will help to shape it going forward.

Regards,

Paul
