[Academic] Procurement

Dear all,

Jonathan Pritchard and I had a constructive discussion this morning with Sharon Griffin in Procurement about the significant delays often experienced when new suppliers have to be added to FMS prior to a purchase being processed.

Sharon is working to streamline and improve the process, and as part of this, she has asked for problems to be highlighted so that she can look into them.  This should help her to identify where and why some delays occur.

If you are currently waiting for a supplier to be added to FMS (for more than 3 weeks) or if you have recently had the problem of a former supplier being taken off the system so that a new order was delayed, please let me know.

I will then collate the examples for Sharon so that she is not inundated with individual emails.

It would be helpful to hear back by Tuesday 18th June, but on an ongoing basis, please email me with such problems and I will continue to refer them to Sharon.
