I have placed the submitted literature reviews on idrive in the folder:
\Science\Physics\project\2019-20\20191021LiteratureReview

Please check that your 4th year project student has submitted one, unless there has been a “personal circumstance” or previously discussed extension. The literature review is not marked but is usually a good indicator of student engagement and progression at this stage.

Please take the time to discuss with the student what they have submitted, particularly their understanding of the background material, the project itself (motivation, aims, goals, actions), and the presentation of the material (proper referencing, figures, captions). Students should be encouraged not to rely too heavily on web resources but should properly cite the relevant research literature if possible. A concise, precise, but comprehensive writing style should also be encouraged.

The literature review is due on Monday 21st October 2019 so please remind your 4th year project students that this is coming up soon. They should be working hard on their projects but if you have any concerns about their engagement, even at this early stage, please inform me.
