To academic staff (note this has been put on MyPlace for 3rd and 4th year students):

Carnegie Trust Undergraduate Vacation Scholarship Scheme - Information for 2020

The Carnegie Trust have announced the 2020 scheme earlier than in previous years as they have changed their application timeframe with the application portal opening on 1 December 2019 and the closing date will be 31 January 2020 at 5pm. Decisions on awards should be made by 10 April 2020. Please highlight this opportunity to year 3 undergraduate students of a 4-year degree and those in year 3 or 4 of a 5-year degree on track to achieve a 2:1 or higher in their final degree classification.

The Scheme is intended for eligible students who would like to devote some of the summer vacation (usually from May onwards) to undertake a programme of independent research of direct benefit to their academic work. Vacation scholarships are tenable for a minimum of 2 weeks and a maximum of 12 weeks and provide a weekly stipend equivalent to the Scottish Living Wage rate.

The application must be completed online through the Trust's website (see Regulations) by the student and by the project supervisor at this University. Supervisors may only nominate one student each year.

We have made provision to pay the award stipend and to recover the money from the Trust on completion. Research costs are not covered under the Scheme.

The following documents will be available on the University's scholarships website <https://www.strath.ac.uk/studywithus/scholarships/carnegieundergraduatevacationscholarship/>
