Hi
The department has been approached by a number of students with anxiety related issues. This seems to be a worrying trend and I would like to remind staff that the first point of contact should be the Disability and Wellbeing Service. They will meet with the student and assess their needs. This then gives the department the guidance it needs to make reasonable adjustments.
In the interim we can make adjustments to help support the student but we must make it clear to the student that these adjustments are made on the assumption that a record will be uploaded to Pegasus in due course.
Can you also advise them to make contact with Aidan Arnold or myself so that we can help support them at departmental level. Brian McNeil has also asked us to keep a record so that he can determine if there are any specific course issues which are causing problems.
Many thanks
Kirsten
