Dear All,

The Universitiy's Education Strategy Committee  have requested
information (for the Principal and Executive Team) on the approaches
taken and impact at a programme level (BSc, MPhys, MSc...)  of how we
were able to transition to non-face-to-face / online learning and
teaching from mid- March. This will help establish a more detailed
understanding of uses of web-based and webinar platforms for: teaching
and learning, project activity, assessment (& assessment re-design),
feedback, student support and support for staff within the faculty.

Please find attached a spreadsheet that will allow you to contribute.
Please indicate which module you refer to in your return. These will be
collated and returned by the deadline of Mon 4 May.

The Faculty give their 'Apologies that you have a further task to
complete when you all have much on your plate already...'

Thanks,

Brian.

Dear DoTs

You will see the request from the Deputy Associate Principal below.
Apologies that you have a further task to complete when you all have
much on your plate already but the information being gathered will
inform the Education Strategy Committee (and more importantly the
Principal and Executive Team) about the scale of the work which has been
undertaken. The information requested is at programme level and it is
acceptable to list more than one programme in your return if the same
adjustments have been made in those programmes. If there are any
differences could those programmes be logged on a separate return.

In order for a Faculty return to be compiled by the deadline please
submit your Department response to christine.dowds at strath.ac.uk
<mailto:christine.dowds at strath.ac.uk> by Monday 4^th May at noon.

Many thanks for your support with this.

Regards

Debbie.

Hi Debbie

At the end of last week there was a meeting of the ET / ESC group which
has oversight of the project we reviewed and discussed earlier in the
week at LEC. The group were very positive regarding our initial
progress, particularly in relation to the headline review and reporting
on the areas identified around: What We Did, How We Did It, What Worked
& What Didn’t.

Whilst welcoming this approach the Vice Principal, with the group’s full
support, felt that it would also be essential to have a clear picture of
the approaches taken and impact at a programme level for the University
to gain a full picture of how we were able to transition to
non-face-to-face / online learning and teaching from mid- March. This
will help the project to establish a more detailed understanding of uses
of web-based and webinar platforms for: teaching and learning, project
activity, assessment (& assessment re-design), feedback, student support
and support for staff within the faculty.

I am aware from our discussions that faculties have been collating and
recording the changes made for learning, teaching and assessment and so
hopefully the information is available to allow a programme-based
summary to be established for each faculty. We recognise the curriculum
structures vary across the Faculties, so if providing this detail at a
subject level is more appropriate to your faculty, please feel free to
respond as such.

The attached template is intended to help programme leaders focus
reflections and provide a framework for responses. Hopefully this will
be useful and help collate information across the institution so we can
maximise our learning from this unprecedented challenge.

I realise that this is a further request at a busy time but this
information really would help inform this work and allow us to maximise
the learning and impact from our current experiences. I would ask that
this is collated at faculty level and submitted to me, and copied to
educationenhancement-quality at strath.ac.uk
<mailto:educationenhancement-quality at strath.ac.uk>, by Tuesday 5^th May
in order that I can provide a summary for ESC.

I am happy to discuss this request in more detail if it would be helpful.

Best regards.

Brian
