[Academic] PDA social event

Dear All,

Thank you very much for taking part in this years welcome event for new students. I hope that you found it helpful in getting to know your students and allowing them to meet some of their classmates. After a wee bit of a slow start, the students in my group really seemed to enjoy themselves. I hope that you & your students did as well.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank David Lowit and Arthur McIntosh on behalf of the Department for all their work in developing this event for us and providing all the material, and the wider Physics Society for helping to test it and for their other efforts in welcoming our new students.
