[Academic] IoP Bell Burnell Graduate Scholarship Fund - Covid-19 Hardship fund

The Institute of Physics (IOP) has decided to support a number of awards 
for PhD students who have been impacted by the restrictions imposed by 
Covid-19 and are studying in UK or Irish  universities. The scheme has 
been created to support students who require emergency funding in order 
to complete their PhD. They should not be in receipt of, or be eligible 
for, similar funding from another source.

> Each university is invited to nominate one Physics PhD student who 
> they believe is eligible by *15 October 2020* to receive an award.
>
The fund will award £5K bursaries to eligible students. To be eligible:
>
> ·universities must have either Athena SWAN/Juno status to put a 
> candidate forward
>
> ·students must be from one of the following underrepresented groups:
>
> -women
>
> -students of Black-Caribbean, Black-African and other minority ethnic 
> (BAME) heritage
>
> -students with disabilities, or who require additional funding to 
> support inclusive learning
>
> -students from disadvantaged backgrounds
>
> -LGBT+ students
>
> -people with qualifying refugee status who meet the above criteria are 
> also encouraged to apply.

Please send completed forms to Audrey by *Friday 9th Oct*. The dept will 
then select one application to go forward to the IoP.
