Dear All
Following student feedback on workload, the deadline for the project
selection was extended till 1/4/2021 to allow more flexibility. They
are meant to produce a ranked list of project but due to the
difficulties with Covid, no signatures are required. However, students
should contact you with questions on the project and whether they got
the background from modules chosen or otherwise to tackle it, before
putting it down as their choice.
If you prefer to give a common information session instead of many 1:1
meetings, please let Melanie know with a time and a zoom link,
preferentially on Wednesday afternoons to avoid overlap with classes.

Thank you very much to all who supplied projects. The booklet is
announced and students might contact you with queries. There are
supposed to give a list of priorities. As it is difficult to collect
signatures, I trust student that a listed project has been discussed
with a supervisor. Please note that all project in the booklet can be
only assigned now via the central distribution to be fair against all
students. However, if during the discussion an idea for an additional
bespoke project arises or you are happy to take two students on a
project, there is still the possibility of an arrangement prior to deadline.
The very latest return is 15/3/2021.
As Daniel did arrange for PH450, it might make sense that you offer
information sessions for a group of interested students instead of
dealing with many individual queries. If you want to go along this path,
please let Melanie timing and zoom details know.
Suitable times should be Wednesday afternoons, also Thursday and Friday
should be suitable for most students.
Regards
Thorsten
