Hi
Many of you will have received an email directly from RKES asking about RTSG expenditure for your EPSRC students. I am collating this information to be returned by the end of the week and will be in contact regarding expenditure and potential commitments.
In the interim can I remind staff that RTSG funding is provided for each EPSRC REA/SEA student on an annual basis throughout the studentship. This funding should be used for travel, conferences, consumables, small items of equipment and training. Laptops and computers are not allowed. Recently this was extended to include society membership fees and other memberships such as Archie West.
It is not clear at this stage whether EPSRC will ask for the return of any unspent funds but it is important you fully utilise these funds. Many are charging grants in favour of using RTSG funding. An audit is taking place and I suspect we will find out more once this has happened. In the interim please encourage students to spend these funds where possible. I appreciate this is difficult at the moment and unfortunately EPSRC have not changed the rules to reflect the current situation.
Many thanks
Kirsten
