A reminder about the approaching deadline for JARA studentship 
applications (15th June).

These are 36 month, University funded studentships which require :
- a high-quality (realistically 1st class) named student
- a supervisor contribution of >£15K, of which >£9.2K must be from an 
external source (i.e. >15% of total studentship cost , which is £61,848 
for a home student).

Apply via pgrapps.strath.ac.uk (select "student" then "university" whan 
asked to choose the application type). Applications must include as 
attachments :
- student CV
- student transcripts (if student has undergraduate and Masters degrees, 
supply both transcripts)
- 2 referee reports

Example financial breakdown (may be adjusted slightly during assessment) :
JARA/University (fees & stipend) : £30,000
Supervisor (stipend) : £15000 (make external contribution clear in 
appication)
Faculty : £16,848

Total : £61,848

Dear Colleagues,

A gentle reminder that JARA applications must be fully Faculty ranked 
and submitted to the PGR Funding Team, RKES by *_30^th  June 2021_*.

Please note that applications that are not fully complete, with all 
required documents attached, cannot be considered.

As in previous years, a minimum of 15% of the full funding package must 
come from an external source. Evidence of external funding, specifying 
the amount contributed, must be provided at the point of application. 
Home fee status students cannot contribute towards their funding 
packages. International (overseas fee status) students are permitted to 
contribute a maximum of the difference between the Home fee and 
international fee.

_Minimum External Funding Requirements (15% of funding packages) for 
3-year studentships_:

Home (All Faculties) – £9,277.20

International Science – £16,943.55

International Maths & Stats - £ 14,851.05

International CIS - £15,886.05

International Engineering - £17,483.55

International Architecture - £16,178.55

Internation BME - £17,776.05

International SBS – £14,851.05

International HaSS – £14,311.05
