Dear All,

Here is a copy of the slides that I presented today to our returning students. Some of you may be apprehensive about a resumption of f2f teaching. The main headline in the slides is that Physics is taking extra steps above those required by the University to minimise the risk of covid transmission in teaching. These extra steps include

(1) Mandating face coverings for all Physics f2f teaching (apart from those with exemptions)
(2) Use of CO2 monitors to measure air quality.
(3) Asking students to complete lateral flow tests before coming to f2f teaching

If a student tests positive they should notify the University.
We will be developing guidance on the use of the monitors and will update you on this before the end of the week.

Please use these emails for all teaching business. The old Adviser of study emails will also appear there.

Please be sparing in your emails. Many queries can be answered by looking at one of two pages, the Physics PPD page and the Physics Covid 19 page. Look there for the answer before asking. Encourage students to do so too. Addresses

Please direct your emails to the most appropriate person. If your email is regarding 3rd Year students or teaching you should for example email only the 3rd Year coordinator. Do not copy the DDoT or the DoT in. The YCs can decide if their input is required.
