Dear all,

When proposing a PGR viva (PhD/EngD/MPhil) please use the form at the
following link :

https://forms.office.com/r/wc6D1uYevF

or e-mail the information requested on the form to me. When I receive
the committee proposal, the following will take place :

- I will add any missing information (e.g. convenor and internal
examiner if not already nominated) and check the suitablity of the
external examiner before passing full committee details to Catherine or
Michaela.
- Catherine/Michaela will email the external examiner including either
(a) a link for him/her to upload copies of UK Right to Work evidence
(e.g. passport scan) or
(b) an invoice template if UK Right to Work evidence is not required (if
the external is not resident/employed in the UK and the viva does not
take place in UK)
- Catherine/Michaela will submit the committee details to the PGR
examination Sharepoint site for formal approval by the Vice-dean
including Right to Work evidence where required.

The link to the form above will also be put on the PhD Physics MyPlace page.

This procedure removes the requirement for convenors to obtain Right to
Work evidence from examiners and brings us more in line with Home Office
guidance.

Thanks

Gordon
