Please see below an email I have received regarding an opportunity for colleagues to attend GBV first responder training. If you or any colleagues in your Department would like to attend please let me know. As you’ll see I’ve been asked to give an idea of potential numbers and best dates early next week so a response by then would be appreciated, apologies for the short turnaround here.

Dear Colleagues,

Steph has been in touch with Paula Dunn at Glasgow and Clyde Rape Crisis to organise delivery of their GBV first responder training. This is a series of 3 two-hour, online sessions.

The sessions have been delivered at Strathclyde before and have been very well evaluated. Ideally, we would like everyone whose role means they may be a first responder to GBV to have the opportunity to attend the training. We have contacted Security, Residences and Student Support colleagues directly due to the nature of their work, and are extending this to our Equally Safe members, where spaces permit.

Around 25 people can be included per block and we’ve been offered a range of dates in May.

First Responder Training (Online)

Level 1: Monday 9th May              9.30am – 11.30am
Level 2: Monday 16th May            9.30am – 11.30am
Level 3: Monday 23rd May            9.30am – 11.30am

OR

Level 1: Tuesday 10th May            9.30am – 11.30am
Level 2: Tuesday 17th May            9.30am – 11.30am
Level 3: Tuesday 24th May            9.30am – 11.30am

OR

Level 1: Wednesday 11th May      9.30am – 11.30am
Level 2: Wednesday 18th May     9.30am – 11.30am
Level 3: Wednesday 25th May      9.30am – 11.30am


Could you please let me know:


  1.  If you would like to attend the training
  2.  If you have a preferred block (it’s fine to split team members between different blocks if that suits diaries) and a second / third option.
  3.  Feel welcome to recommend colleagues


I’d be really grateful if you could get back to me with rough numbers early next week. I’m aware Paula’s time gets booked up quickly and so I would like to reserve some of these blocks as soon as possible
