[Academic] Nobel Prize in Physics 2022

Dear colleagues,
it is great news that Alain Aspect, John Clauser and Anton Zeilinger have been awarded the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics for their work on experiments using entangled quantum states.
Many of us remember that Alain Aspect spent a year in our Department hosted by the Optics Divison in 2000 as Carnegie Trust Centenary Professor.
Their work established quantum entanglement as a key element for quantum technologies beyond the fundamental questions about the interpretation of quantum mechanics.
