[Academic] Update - PGR Uplifts for Non UKRI or Non University Funded Students

Hi

Please note we have now had confirmation from the Faculty that they will support the equivalent uplift scheme provided by UKRI for non UKRI and non University funded students.  This equates to £1,606 per student for the academic year 2022-23.

The Faculty have however requested that where a funder is willing to meet this cost within existing or additional funding we use this in the first instance.

For the moment Michaela has uploaded the uplifts to the PGR apps system and this will be backdated to 1st October.  For those who have already made arrangements to fund the uplift from existing funds please let me us know if these should be transferred to Faculty funding.

The students not considered for the uplift are as follows:

                                       i.           UKRI-funded students (they have already received the UKRI uplift)
                                      ii.           Student on schemes centrally managed by the PGR Funding Team and aligned to the UKRI minimum stipend levels e.g. SRSS studentships (they too have already received an uplift equivalent to the UKRI students)
                                    iii.           Self-funded students
                                    iv.           Students undertaking their degree as part of waged employment (e.g. a Doctorate at Work or similar)
                                      v.           Students who are already on an enhanced stipend (above the previous UKRI minimum of £16,062)
                                    vi.           Sponsored students who receive their stipend directly from an external source (e.g. Commonwealth Scholars, students funded by their home governments etc)

n.b. actually students in groups (i) and (ii) shouldn't even appear on the list, unless you included them by mistake
