Due to the industrial action scheduled for both days of the PH450 Talks, the Teaching Committee has taken the decision to cancel the in-person presentations and modify the assessment procedures.

  * Students will still be required to submit a set of slides for their talks, according to the template and appropriate for a 9 to 10 min talk
  * The slides do not need to be narrated, but should include in the Slide Notes a brief summary of what would be explained on the slide, this can be bulleted
  * The presentation will be assessed on a Pass/Fail basis, similar to that of the Literature Review/Poster. As long as the student demonstrates engagement and a genuine attempt, they should pass. A pass on the Talk (as well as the Lit Review/Poster) is a course requirement
  * Supervisors should review the slides and give approval prior to submission on MyPlace. A single round of feedback should be sufficient, students have been encouraged to engage early to allow supervisors time to provide feedback on their draft slides
  * No numerical mark will be assigned to the Talk, the other assessment marks will be scaled by dividing by 0.9 to bring the total back up to 100
  * A nominal due date has been set for the 15th February but an extension of a few days can be granted should it be required

Regards,
Daniel
4th and 5th Year Project Coordinator
