Colleagues
Hope all is well.
Lisa Toon from the Digital Accessibility Project has shared the
information below regarding training on *Introduction to Accessibility.*
Can you take some time to share widely across your faculty teams and
encourage staff to sign up where possible.
**********************************************************
As you know, the Digital Accessibility project is underway to improve
the accessibility of the University’s online content. This includes our
websites, portals, and any documents available digitally. The project
aims to raise awareness and improve knowledge and skills so that people
are confident that they can create accessible content.
Anyone who creates digital content can now book a place on an
Introduction to Digital Accessibility
<https://bookings.strath.ac.uk/Home/Course/6302> on the DAT booking system.
The course will cover:
* What is digital accessibility?
* Why do we need to be digitally accessible?
* What are the barriers to digital accessibility and how can we remove
them?
* Basic digital accessibility behaviours people can implement immediately
This training was advertised this week in Inside Strathclyde
<https://universityofstrathclyde.newsweaver.com/cvg4pnmkid/1744jc5g15j10e7sqvfm65?email=true&lang=en&a=1&p=62816058&t=31139332>,
but it would be very helpful if you could also promote it through
appropriate networks.
This introductory session is the first step to raising awareness, and
specific training will be available later in the year, covering MyPlace
accessibility, Microsoft accessibility, writing effective ALT text and
more.

Best wishes
Anne
