Subject: IOP Particle Accelerators and Beams Annual Conference (PAB 2024)

Dear All,

The Institute of Physics, Particle Accelerators and Beams Annual Conference will be held 11-12 June 2024 at the Dalton Cumbrian Facility - see below for details. Please encourage your PG students and Research staff to attend if they are involved in the field.

This two-day conference is the UK's premier national event in the field of particle accelerators. PAB 2024 aims to bring together the entire community - this in-person event will comprise two days of vibrant physics discussion, knowledge sharing, and networking. This year, PAB 2024 is hosted by the Dalton Cumbrian Facility, home to industry leading equipment and accelerators that are vital to UK nuclear research. The packed programme of Keynote, Plenary, Parallel and Poster sessions as well as the Conference Dinner at the Washington Central Hotel will allow participants plenty of opportunity to discuss all that is new and exciting in UK accelerator physics and technology. We encourage participants at all career stages from PhD students, through postdoc to senior professors to attend.

The conference will take place on 11 and 12 June 2024 at the Washington Central Hotel in Cumbria.

Registration opens soon. Further details can be found at https://indico.cern.ch/e/PAB2024.

Nominations are still open for the Group Prize for Outstanding Professional Contribution.

The IoP Particle Accelerator and Beams Group is currently looking for nominations for the annual Group Prize for Outstanding Professional Contributions in the field. This annual prize recognises someone who has contributed to accelerator science and technology in the UK or Ireland and raised its public profile.
Nominations should comprise a summary case of up to 2 pages, together with major citation evidence (where relevant) and may include up to 2 letters of support for the candidate.
The Prize is expected to be awarded at the Annual Conference (see above) on 11-12 June 2024. All nominations should be sent to the group's Honorary Secretary Stephen Gibson stephen.gibson at rhul.ac.uk<mailto:stephen.gibson at rhul.ac.uk> by 30 May 2024.
For more information about the prize and to see a list of previous recipients, visit the group webpage at:
