Dear All,
I would like to bring your attention to an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) call for proposals. I am happy to speak with anyone who is considering or preparing an application and provide feedback on this.
The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) has awarded a total of £2.6M to the University of Strathclyde to support the development of impact from our Engineering and Physical Sciences (EPS) research portfolio with the aim of improving society and the economy.
Funding for impact-focused EPS projects is available under the following funding mechanisms:
* Commercialisation: A fund of up to £50,000 to support activity with strong potential to lead to a licensing deal or the creation of a new company by which to commercialise technology. Proposals that align well with the University of Strathclyde's Strategic Themes<https://strath.sharepoint.com/sites/rkes/SitePages/Strategic-Theme-Overview(1).aspx> and Clusters<https://www.strath.ac.uk/workwithus/technologyinnovationzone/> are particularly welcome.
* Innovation Partnership (secondments): A flexible fund (typically up to £40,000) allowing a company employee or university researcher to spend time working in the other's organisation is available.
* Bridging the Gaps: Funding of up to £15,000 is available to support new, long-term collaborations of cross-disciplinary and diverse research teams within the University to work together on an industry or societal challenge and/or other impact development project.
* KTP/IUK Pump Priming: Funding of up to £15,000 is available to support external partner engagement with the potential to develop into a KTP or other IUK funded project.
* New Organisation Engagement (NOE): Funding of up to £15,000 is available to support feasibility type studies in collaboration with businesses and other organisations
* Impact Development Fund (IDF): Funding of up to £15,000 can be accessed by Impact Champions to support specific impact activities.
Further details, including eligibility criteria, future deadlines and application forms can be found on the EPSRC IAA SharePoint pages<https://strath.sharepoint.com/sites/rkes/SitePages/Impact%20Acceleration%20Account.aspx>.
If you would like to discuss the most appropriate mechanism under which to apply, please contact the IAA team<mailto:iaa at strath.ac.uk>.
The deadline for applications is 12pm on 1st October 2024
Best wishes,
Susan
