Dear All,
This is an important reminder that it is essential that you check and comply with the adjustments for disabled students in any classes you are teaching in S1. This is available on Pegasus=> Student Experience=>Disabled students, and often pertains to seeing class material in advance. Ideally please let the students know that adjustments have been put in place where required, either in a general email to all students or individually to those concerned so that they know these have been considered.
As part of Welcome Week I met up with some First Year and direct entry students who noted on their UCAS applications that they may require adjustments but these are not noted on Pegasus as yet. I will update on these when they come through.
Another important point to note is that adjustments can also apply for project students that you supervise (PH450, PH550/PH570 and PH952), and if these are co-supervised by postdocs you need to relay key adjustments to these supervisors as they will not have access.
For any queries please contact me as one of the Physics Department Disability Co-ordinators (DDC) at the DDC email address physics-ddc at strath.ac.uk<mailto:physics-ddc at strath.ac.uk>.
Best wishes
Jacqui
