EPSRC Doctoral Prize 2025

We are pleased to announce a call for an EPSRC Doctoral Prize funded by the EPSRC Doctoral Training Partnership grant. The award provides funding for one year of salary to support an outstanding researcher in further developing their research activities following completion of a PhD. To be eligible, candidates must have received EPSRC funding for their PhD or EngD programme, successfully passed their PhD viva voce exam, and submitted the final version of their thesis by the start of the Doctoral Prize project (expected between May and October 2025).

For the 2025 call, each Faculty is limited to two applications, and so applications submitted to the Science faculty will be reviewed and short-listed by a panel that will be looking for evidence of:

  *   the excellence of the researcher;
  *   the quality and rigour of the research proposed;
  * how the research represents a substantive advancement beyond the candidate's PhD work; and
  * the potential impact of the research in advancing the applicant's career.

Candidates should complete and submit the application form available on the RKES Portal<https://strath.sharepoint.com/:u:/r/sites/rkes/SitePages/EPSRC-Doctoral-Prize.aspx?csf=1&web=1&e=kjl1sm>, along with all required supporting documents to faculty for consideration. Optional E,D&I forms should be sent directly from the student applicant to the PGR Funding Team<mailto:rkes-pgrfunding at strath.ac.uk>, where an applicant chooses to complete it- this does not form part of the submission to faculty.

The deadline for applications to be submitted is 5 pm, Wednesday, 26th February 2025. Applications should be sent to science-research at strath.ac.uk<mailto:science-research at strath.ac.uk>
