[Academic] Chulalongkorn University Agreement - Summer Research Experience

Dear All,

The Dean will be in Bangkok next Monday for the signature of a 4+1 
Articulation Agreement with Chulalongkorn University – this is the top 
ranked University in Thailand (World QS ranking 229).

As part of this agreement “Chula” physics students will have the 
opportunity, at the end of their 3^rd year, to undertake an 
International Summer Research Project at Strathclyde, supported by bench 
fees.

For this summer the agreed Bench Fees are;

£1800 for an 8 week project

£2250 for a 10 week project

These short projects should be designed to give the students an 
excellent experience of undertaking chemistry in a research environment 
and will hopefully encourage them to return to Strathclyde at the end of 
their final (4^th ) year to undertake a PGT or PGR degree. The students 
take many of their courses in English and so there should be no language 
problems.

As part of his visit, next week, the Dean has a session scheduled where 
he will present and discuss a portfolio of the types of projects that 
are on offer to students along with the staff that would be involved.

If you are interested in taking on a Chula student for a Summer Research 
Project could you please send me ;

 1. A project title and a paragraph briefly outlining the project on
    offer (similar to MPhys Projects)
 2. A graphic based ppt slide that advertises the project, you and your
    group
