Hi folks
There are not that many science colleagues who have signed up for this.
Can you please circulate again within your departments (to all staff who are teaching) incase they would like to attend but missed the invite?
Best wishes,
Lorraine

Dear colleague,
The Gen-AI Working Group would like to explore the potential of Microsoft MS Copilot in Edge in Edge and Zoom AI Assistant to enhance learning, teaching and assessment activities at Strathclyde. These tools are available to all staff and have the potential to shape how we approach learning, teaching, assessment, and student support now and in the near future.
The pilot program aims to empower teaching staff to experiment with MS Copilot in Edge in Edge and Zoom AI Assistant in various academic activities, such as creating engaging teaching materials, lesson plans, and assessments, and supporting students with tailored advice and resources.
Through this program, participants will:
* Receive training and support to use Microsoft Copilot in Edge and Zoom AI Assistant effectively.
* Experiment with use cases in their teaching and administrative roles.
* Collaborate and share insights with colleagues in a supportive community of practice, including regular development meetings and catch-ups.
* Contribute to the evaluation of these tools
This is an opportunity to explore how AI technology could influence your teaching and approach to work, and contribute to shaping the university’s approach to managing the use of AI tools in education. It is also a great opportunity to build your digital fluency and confidence in using emerging technologies.
The pilot will run from Feb to June 2025, and we anticipate it will require some time for:
* An initial training session (online or in-person);
* Using Microsoft MS Copilot in Edge and/or Zoom AI Assistant in your work and sharing your experiences; and,
* Providing feedback through surveys, focus groups, or informal discussions.
If you are interested in participating or would like more information, please reply by Friday 7 February 2025 to me directly (william.hasty at strath.ac.uk<mailto:william.hasty at strath.ac.uk>). Spaces will be limited, so please let us know soon.
All best wishes,
William
