[Academic] Tracking our graduates

Dear all,

We are keen to gather more information on where our students go after they graduate - both home and international, at all levels.

If you are aware of the post-graduation destination of any of your project/PDA students, please would you let Melanie know.  Ultimately this information will be stored anonymously so the students won't be identifiable but we will be able to provide high level information to applicants about where our graduates go.

In addition, if you are asked to provide a reference for a student, please include in your agreement a statement like "We would love to hear whether this application was successful and hope that you do not object to Melanie contacting you in two months or so to find out". And cc to Melanie.

Although the Graduate Destinations Survey is conducted nationally, it misses students who have left the country, and the response rate is low as it is run 18 months post-graduation.  Finding out from students directly now will give us more detailed information.
