Hello,
The HE sector is seeing an increase in the use of GenAI by students and staff. There is currently a small group meeting regularly with the aim to support and advise the teaching committee on the use of GenAI on our taught physics programmes.
Since we started to meet in March, the QAA Benchmarks for Physics programmes<https://www.qaa.ac.uk/the-quality-code/subject-benchmark-statements/subject-benchmark-statement-physics-astronomy-and-astrophysics> have been released and feature a guidance section on incorporating GenAI within programmes. We have also met with more colleagues who are becoming interested in the topic or finding that GenAI is too easily applied to their current assessment strategies.
As such, we'd like to invite you to be part of the discussion around the use of GenAI on our programmes.
What additional training do staff need? Where should we teach safe and sensible use of GenAI? How can we use GenAI to develop student's critical thinking?
Join us for our next chat (but you will need to bring your own drinks!)
