Dear PGR Student Supervisors,

We are writing to ask for your support in promoting the completion of the 2024 Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) within your research groups. The PRES survey closes less than one week from today (16th May 2024). The response from Science has been particularly low (the lowest of the four faculties) at around 25%.

Survey details:
• Students can access the survey here https://classes.myplace.strath.ac.uk/blocks/strathsurveys/ (or by emailing doctoral.school at strath.ac.uk<mailto:doctoral.school at strath.ac.uk> and requesting a link)
• Duration: It should take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
• Confidentiality: All responses are confidential, and the results will be anonymised to ensure privacy.

Benefits of completing the survey
• By sharing insights, students contribute to improving the quality of supervision, resources, and support available to PGRs.
• PRES results inform institutional decisions and help the university address any challenges faced by our PGR community.

You can advise students that in alignment with the commitment to creating a positive PGR experience here at Strathclyde, the Strathclyde Doctoral School will be donating £2 per survey response to Student Minds<https://www.studentminds.org.uk/>, the UK’s student mental health charity (with a target of £2000).

We would greatly appreciate if you could cascade this request to your research groups.

Kind regards,
Christine
