Dear All,
During the recent Fire Risk Assessment for the John Anderson building it has come to attention that the single direction of travel distances were found to be within the permitted distances detailed in the (Building Standards) Technical Handbook 2013 in all areas of the building, apart from JA207. This protected route has been compromised by the lack of self-closers, vents in fire doors, provision of various heat detectors and the creation of a communal area.
I have been advised that a suitable partition should be constructed between JA207a and JA208.
This will enclose the communal area and create a suitable protected corridor and in turn, provide the occupants of JA207 with a suitable travel distance.
Meantime, this communal area and corridor, should be maintained as a sterile area.

Regards,
Erling
