Subject: EPSRC Institutional Sponsorship: Data Science
To whom it may concern,
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics and the Department of Computer and Information Sciences have secured funding from the EPSRC Institutional Sponsorship Grant to scope out and initiate new research projects in Data Science. As part of the award we are conducting a survey to understand Strathclyde’s capabilities in this area and identify possible collaborations that would benefit research projects and funding proposals across the University. Therefore, we would like to hear from all researchers whose research area intersects with the broadly defined field of Data Science. In addition, funding has been secured for three strategic workshops in themes aligned with the University of Strathclyde and the Alan Turing Institute. Researchers will be welcomed to submit a bid for up to £3,000 to hold a workshop that will develop research ideas and lead to future funding proposals.
The attached flyer contains more information on the survey and workshops. It also contains a link that will enable researchers to register for an information session that we are holding on 11th November 2015 at 1pm. We would appreciate it if you could circulate this message and flyer to those in your Department/Centre who may be interested in this event.
Yours sincerely,
Stephen

Department of Mathematics and Statistics
