Good Morning Alison,
I was wondering whether you could help me. I write the blog for Glasgow
Science Centre and I am currently looking for guest contributors. We
have featured some scientists who work in industry and academia
previously and they are extremely popular. For the new year, I would
like to recruit a wide variety of scientists working in different
fields. Do you think that anyone in the Institute of Physics would like
to be involved?
You can view the blog here: http://www.glasgowsciencecentre.org/Blog/
The tone of the blog is quite informal and the four subject areas that
we offer to guest bloggers are:
·What inspired you to study science?
oYour heroes, influences and seminal experiences
oWhat fuels your passion
oA typical day or week in your job
oYour aspirations and goals – either personal or societal
·The representation of women in STEM
oIn support of the STEM agenda of female role models in Science
oProgress, high points and achievements
oAnecdote and experiences of working in Science
o(If you are brave!) an exploration of gender in Science – what
gender-specific advantages and disadvantages has the writer faced
·A day in the life- how do you use your science knowledge in your
current role?
Most pieces are fairly short – so probably 300-500 words and I am very
happy to work to the guest writer’s deadlines. We promote the posts on
our social media channels and we would link to your own facebook and
twitter accounts. I would also like to add your link to the blog itself
to drive traffic to both sites/ blogs.
I was wondering there was someone within your organisation who you think
would like to be a guest contributor? If you would like any more
information please get in touch.
Many thanks,
Sharon
