[Postgrad] Matchmaking with Employers

Dear PhDs, EngDs and PostDocs



The feedback from the recent Graduate School Careers Event has been extremely positive. As a follow on, I am developing an idea I have of creating an 'Industry Facing Graduate School' by matchmaking employers with PhDs, EngDs and Post Docs.



Employers appear to have difficulties hiring talented people with the right skill set. So the plan would be to target employers, private and public sector organisations, who hire physicists, to get their current vacancies on a SUPA employer vacancy site with password protected restricted access and to provide them with access to the highest calibre PhDs, EngDs and PostDocs as potential recruits ie YOU!



Would you, in principle, be willing to put your CV on-line on a SUPA 'Matchmaking recruitment site' ie a SUPA on-line CV site with password protected restricted access? Please give us your thoughts @ http://www.supa.ac.uk/polls/cv_online by 1700, Friday, 13th June.



Within SUPA, we have around 500 PhDs/EngDs with 100-150 graduating per annum

+ 350 Postdocs with a  turnover of 50-100 per annum. To make my idea

+ work,

we would need to collect about 100 CVs each year.
