ScottishPower-Iberdrola Challenge for aspiring entrepreneurs
Strathclyde students have been set an entrepreneurial challenge by ScottishPower-Iberdrola. Budding entrepreneurs with a great business idea are being asked to put forward their original ideas for new technologies, services or business models which could be turned into successful commercial ventures.
The Challenge is open to all Strathclyde students, at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level, and it targets aspiring entrepreneurs with novel business ideas relevant to ScottishPower-Iberdrola's core innovation and technology areas.
A  judging panel of Strathclyde faculty, entrepreneurs and Iberdrola managers will assess proposals against a set of criteria which include originality, feasibility, market potential and team ability.

Selected participants at this stage will be able to apply for seed funding to develop their initial vision and developed propositions will be screened again by the judging panel, with the most promising invited to apply for further funding to develop their concept.

Students will be helped through this stage with guidance from a dedicated coach and a development workshop, at the end of which projects are again screened by the judging panel and those selected will proceed to the final round which comprises a dedicated commercialisation workshop.

The winning team will take part in Iberdrola's Innovation Week in Madrid where they will have the opportunity to pitch their idea to Iberdrola and its partners.
