[Postgrad] Research Staff Representatives

Dear fellow Researchers,

We are research staff representatives on the Departmental Committee (DC), and our task in the Committee is to be eyes and ears for the research staff in the Department, ensuring issues relating to research staff are highlighted at the committee and providing feedback to any decisions made at the DC which may affect you in your role as a researcher in the department.

We are organising a brief meeting next Wednesday (18th) at 2.30pm in the level 8 common room to first of all welcome new students and staff who have recently joined the department, but also to give you all an opportunity to discuss any issues you may have. One question we are particularly keen to get feedback on is teaching allocations. This year teaching was allocated using information gathered via the workload models submitted to Kirsten back in May, and we would be interested to know if this has lead to a more even distribution of teaching across the department than in previous years.
