We should be grateful if you would circulate the Global Food Security programme science competition to your STFC funded students.

"The Global Food Security programme has just launched a new science communication competition for UKRI-funded PhD and postdocs called Speak Up for Food Security<https://www.foodsecurity.ac.uk/activities/speakup/>. To reflect the multifaceted nature of the global food security challenge<https://www.foodsecurity.ac.uk/challenge/>, we are keen to engage early career researchers from a range of different research backgrounds.

What: 'Speak Up for Food Security' science communication competition

The prize: Finalists will be invited to a 2-day research/science communications training course in London, all expenses paid. The winner will be invited to speak with GFS and BBC presenter Dr Adam Rutherford at Cheltenham Science Festival 2019.

Who: All UKRI-funded PhDs and post-docs who's research feeds into the food security challenge (directly or indirectly)
