T​he Strathclyde Physics EDEI committee (Equality, Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity) are pleased to announce that in association with University of Strathclyde,
WISS (Women in Surgery Scotland) and
University of Glasgow we are hosting a Q&A with Angela Saini, author of Superior, on racism within science, medicine, and academia. The virtual event will be held at 5pm on Monday 29th of June.


Angela Saini is an award-winning science journalist, author and broadcaster.
Angela presents radio and television programmes for the BBC, and her writing has appeared across the world, including in New Scientist, Prospect, The Sunday Times, Wired, and National Geographic.
Angela's latest book, Superior: The Return of Race Science, explores the murky history of race science and the ways in which it is being resurrected in the 21st century. It has attracted enormous critical acclaim, and was a finalist for the LA Times Book Prize and the Foyles Book of the Year.
Angela will join the Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde and Women in Surgery Scotland to discuss the ways in which racism pervades science and academia, the roots of this problem, and what we can do better to address it.
