Competitions and Award Wins

  *   Two Inspire-supported companies won titles at the Business Insider Made in Scotland Awards<https://innovation.strath.ac.uk/60S0-8D85-38M97V-60PYN-1/c.aspx>. Spin-Out Bellrock Technology was awarded Innovator of the Year, while Start-Up Accelerator client James Swinburne of Metacarpal claimed the Young Innovator of the Year Award.
  *   The Converge Challenge's Inside Innovation showcase event saw Stuart Hannah of Strathclyde Spin-Out Microplate Dx securing 'Best Pitch'<https://innovation.strath.ac.uk/60S0-8D85-38M97V-60QAV-1/c.aspx> and winning £500 cash.

Investments

  *   Inspire-supported Start-Up Gibson Robotics Ltd has completed a £226k Gabriel-led investment deal<https://innovation.strath.ac.uk/60S0-8D85-38M97V-60OLK-1/c.aspx>, with co-investment from Strathclyde Inspire Entrepreneurs Fund (SI:EF<https://innovation.strath.ac.uk/60S0-8D85-38M97V-61O1Q-1/c.aspx>). The investment round will allow for acceleration in development and lead to a real-world demonstration.
  *   Strathclyde alt-protein Spin-Out ENOUGH (formerly 3F Bio), has raised £36 million in Series B funding<https://innovation.strath.ac.uk/60S0-8D85-38M97V-60ORS-1/c.aspx> for its high scale alternative meats and dairy products.
  *   Inspire-supported Start-Up Loch Electronics has been successful in it's recent crowdfunding campaign for the Capsule Dishwasher<https://innovation.strath.ac.uk/60S0-8D85-38M97V-5F3I0-1/c.aspx>. Originally seeking £70k, the company reached it's goal in just 5 hours and has now raised over £566k from nearly 2000 backers.

  *   Inspire-supported Start-Up BGR Training is crowdfunding for Bars.Grips.Rings<https://innovation.strath.ac.uk/60S0-8D85-38M97V-60PYM-1/c.aspx> - the ultimate portable, bodyweight fitness gym with patent-pending quick adjust straps. The company has surpassed it's original goal of just over £14k, raising over £105k with a few days left to go.

Good News

  *   Strathclyde Spin-Out and GCID based food tech company ENOUGH (formerly known as 3F Bio) has partnered with Unilever<https://innovation.strath.ac.uk/60S0-8D85-38M97V-5TP9H-1/c.aspx> to fuel innovation behind its sustainable plant-based brands, starting with The Vegetarian Butcher.

·       Strathclyde Spin-Out and cancer diagnostics company ClinSpec Dx has rebranded as Dxcover<https://innovation.strath.ac.uk/60S0-8D85-38M97V-5TP9I-1/c.aspx> and relocated to larger premises in the University of Strathclyde Royal College Building, in the heart of Glasgow City Innovation District (GCID).
