Tests are for all Strathclyde students and staff.
Getting tested regularly is an important step in ensuring that the wider Strathclyde community is safe and that we minimise the risk of virus transmission.
You should carry out twice weekly testing at home before travelling to campus, three to four days apart. Pick up your tests to use at home now.

We are funding 30 teams on a first come first serve basis to take part.

[Street Food Bites]Street Food Bites is a customisable range of food, freshly made to order, using our new self-order Kiosks. First to launch will be our Bun, Box and Wrap kitchen:
Choose whether you’d like your filling in a floured soft bun, salad box or a Khobez wrap, pick an accompaniment of mixed cabbage slaw, spiced beans or herbed rice and top it off with your choice of Frank’s Hot Sauce, maple and mustard or a herb yoghurt dressing.
We will be live testing the self-ordering system on Thursday 13 October between 12 and 1.30pm, so come down and try it for yourself. All meals will be just £1 on the day.

As part of COP26, Strathclyde is hosting this lecture with special guest speaker, internationally recognised leader on global climate change Christiana Figueres, aimed at stimulating thinking and dialogue about contemporary environmental issues in order to honour the vision of Dr T B Macaulay.
Supported by the Macaulay Development Trust and the James Hutton Institute, the lecture will be hosted by the BBC’s Laura Goodwin with an in-person audience from Strathclyde Technology and Innovation Centre. It will simultaneously be streamed around the world.

Knowledge Exchange: enablers and barriers

Insights gained will be used to improve KE policy and processes in faculties and across the University. Keeping Strathclyde cyber safe

All payment systems used by the University must be reviewed, in the first instance, by the University’s PCI-DSS Compliance Officer<mailto:tracy.bennett at strath.ac.uk>. No payment system (e.g. Stripe, Events Air etc) should be used to generate income without their knowledge and approval.
Failure to do so could result in delay or ultimately rejection of funds crediting your account.

Ducklings benefit from ‘wave riding’ and ‘wave passing’
The sight of ducklings paddling in a line behind their mother is a common sight in rivers and ponds across the country.
But just why do they swim in that formation? Scientists at the University of Strathclyde believe they have discovered the reason – which could have applications in maritime shipping too.

Converge Challenge win
A pre-spinout specialty pharmaceutical company formed at the University of Strathclyde using technology developed in Professor Alex Mullen’s research group has scored a double success after winning a national award and securing a grant of £200,000 from Scottish Enterprise (SE).
Edinburgh-based Fitabeo Therapeutics has been named as the winner of the Converge Challenge, part of the Scotland-wide academic company creation programme Converge.
The clinical stage company develops medicines for patients with advanced incurable diseases or debilitating chronic conditions, to enhance their quality of life. Fitabeo’s co-founder and CEO, Mallikarjun Chityala, has received a prize of £50,000 cash and £24,200 in-kind support.

Given the remarkable amount of innovation and learning that is currently taking place, we also encourage staff to come and share questions, ideas or experiences – including what has worked well and where there are further opportunities for improvement.
A small team of facilitators will be there to discuss, advise, support, and work alongside you to consider how these approaches might work best for you and your students within your own discipline and context.

These sessions are a great way for you to dedicate specific time to focus on your research whilst feeling connected to the University by working alongside other students.
The feedback from PGR attendees has been overwhelmingly positive, with students being able to set aside specific research to work on during these sessions, enabling them to feel motivated in attaining their goals.
