Testing for COVID-19
Third Test Collection Centre now open

Staff and students are now able to pick up tests at the Student Experience Helpdesk on Level 4 in the Learning and Teaching Building.
The service will be available Monday to Friday from 11am to 2pm and is in addition to the existing Collection Points<https://universityofstrathclyde.newsweaver.com/cvg4pnmkid/2vwgbhd7iu4w5sb93d38j4/external?email=true&a=5&p=61152501&t=31139365> in the Livingstone Tower café area, and Strathclyde Sport reception.

Support for staff with caring responsibilities

The Strathclyde Carers' Group is a support network for all staff who provide care for someone who is ill, old and/or frail, disabled or who requires significant assistance.
The group meets every two weeks, currently via Zoom, to allow those with caring responsibilities the opportunity to come together and share their experiences and concerns.
The group also invites guest speakers, with upcoming events including a Dementia Awareness Session on 2 February 2022.

Being interlinked means if one alarm goes off, they all go off.
You may not always hear the alarm closest to the fire, especially if you’re somewhere else in the house. An interlinked system will alert you immediately.

Set to help Strathclyde build on its strengths to secure a future as a digital exemplar, and following good digital practice, the strategy will be developed in collaboration with colleagues across the University.
As previously announced, the project will kick off next week with the first in a series of wide-ranging focus groups and workshops.
There has already been a fantastic response with several focus group sessions being fully booked, however spaces are still available for those who wish to join us in imagining and shaping the Digital Strathclyde of the future.

[https://universityofstrathclyde.newsweaver.com/v2files/shard1/85313/7b/4e06a7169579e6885ac6dc.jpg]As a strategic partner, the EU seeks to enhance cooperation with Africa to promote actions targeted to finding locally adapted solutions to challenges that are global in nature, but which often hit Africa hardest.
The Horizon Europe work programme 2021-2022 includes around 40 topics with a budget of around €350 million under Calls for Proposals that are particularly relevant for cooperation with Africa.
The calls for proposals require or encourage participation of African entities. Topics range from climate change, rural innovation, sustainable food systems and sustainable energy to bringing European highly innovative SMEs to the forefront of African markets.

Based on focus groups with 76 teenagers (aged 16-19) across Yorkshire, this paper explores how the media and social norms have influenced how young people understand endometriosis and perceive the role of the medical profession in treating the condition.

The Cancer Medicines Outcomes Programme (CMOP) – a national collaborative project between the NHS boards in Scotland and the University of Strathclyde – would like to invite anyone who has an interest in patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) to the following event.
The first meeting of the Scottish Cancer Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) Forum, which is being established as part of the Scottish Cancer PROMS Advisory Group. The Advisory group was formed in 2021 and reports to the Scottish Government’s National Cancer Recovery group.

A new report<https://universityofstrathclyde.newsweaver.com/cvg4pnmkid/gp0prazrkgiw5sb93d38j4/external?email=true&a=5&p=61152501&t=31139333> identifying a range of policy levers available to the Scottish Government to tackle child poverty has been published by the Fraser of Allander Institute<https://universityofstrathclyde.newsweaver.com/cvg4pnmkid/1nqalt9qunkw5sb93d38j4/external?email=true&a=5&p=61152501&t=31139333>.
The Scottish Government is due to set out its new plan for tackling child poverty in March. Around one in four children in Scotland are currently living in poverty in Scotland, whereas the Child Poverty (Scotland) Act 2017 sets a target to reduce relative child poverty to one in ten by 2030/31.
